Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO I SET UP A FILE FOR PRINTING?

Files should be created using the CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) setting. Black text should be 0% C 0% M 0% Y 100% K. We prefer that files be created using a vector-based program such as Illustrator or In Design, but we can support many other programs. Files should be saved as PDF files set to “high-quality print”. To print an image that extends to the edge of the printed sheet (bleed), the file should be set ¼” larger than the printed piece. We are happy to answer any questions, or to help you with the initial setup of your files… just ask!

WHY IS A PROOF NECESSARY?

A proof is a one-off copy of your document for visual inspection to ensure that the layout and colors are exactly how they are intended to be. A Proof is made prior to sending the document to press for final printing.
